UK: EU laws allow attackers to 'waltz' through controls, warns Tory MP

Brexit campaigner with Vote Leave, Conservative MP and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Minister for Human Rights Dominic Raab criticised EU regulations for allegedly facilitating terrorism, during a press conference in London on Wednesday. The Tory Minister for Human Rights said the lack of border controls in the Schengen EU zone allowed suspected terrorists a "free pass" to enter Britain.
"Yes we have checks at the border because we're not in Schengen but you've got to ask yourselves what good are those checks if we can do so little to act on them," he told supporters of the Vote Leave campaign at a meeting held at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in Whitehall.
"Now in most countries outside the EU you can bet individuals flagged in that way would not waltz through passport control without those doubts or question marks being answered and assuaged and yet EU rules set the bar for taking meaningful action impossibly high, which means effectively we have to give a free pass to those coming to Britain from the EU who may pose a threat," he added.
