Thousands of people attended a rally in Sanaa, Friday, condemning the Saudi-led airstrikes that have been pummelling Yemen since March 26. Some attendees could be seen wielding weapons, chanting and waving Yemeni flags Almost 2,000 people have been killed and more than half a million displaced since the airstrikes began, according to United Nation figures, which also stipulate that around 78 percent of the Yemeni population is in urgent need of water, food and medical aid. Other aid agencies warned on Thursday that some 20 million people could be at risk as fuel, medicine and essential products are not reaching their destinations, as a result of a Saudi-imposed naval blockade. The Saudi-led coalition includes eight other Arab states and is receiving logistical support from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom and France.
