Hundreds of migrants and refugees continued to gather outside Budapest's Keleti Station after police barred them from entering the premises in the Hungarian capital, Wednesday. Some of them could be seen holding up protest signs. On Tuesday, hundreds of people gathered at the station in the hope of catching westbound trains to Germany and other European Union countries, with 100 police including some in riot gear also gathering outside the premises. It is estimated that some 3,000 people were gathered outside the station Wednesday morning, many having slept outside the premises. The chaos started on Monday night when a group of migrants and refugees were suddenly allowed to leave for Germany without visa checks. Hundreds of people then attempted to board trains, causing disruption to travel plans. Over 150,000 migrants and refugees have reached Hungary this year, mostly arriving through the southern border with Serbia.
