Moscow's Commercial Court considered the claims of five insurance companies in Moscow, Thursday, against the Vnukovo Airport over the plane crash that killed Total CEO Christophe de Margerie.
The insurance companies are demanding €10 million ($11,269,000) to recover losses that resulted from the crash of Total CEO's aircraft two years ago.
The plaintiffs include Berkshire Hathaway, Tokio Marine, Mapfre Global Risks Compania, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company and Great Lakes Reinsurance. The defendant is Vnukovo Airport, Vnukovo International Airport and State ATM Corporation.
According to Vnukovo's legal team the court should dismiss the lawsuit because of lack of credentials provided by the plaintiffs. The insurers already paid out €1,000,000 ($1126900) to those parties affected by the crash as well as further €9,000,000 ($10,142,100) for the Falcon 50 EX airplane.
Both sets of lawyers said the current hearings are for verification and discovery processes. The plaintiff's lawyer Alexander Bykovskiy said "the court is investigating the details of the status of the plaintiffs". The defendants lawyer Andrei Ibragimov said "all documents were provided, all its technical basis, confirming the status of the juridical person, its powers, of course we are to analyse it".
