US Secretary of State John Kerry and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini addressed the Brexit issue during a press conference in Brussels, Monday.
Commenting on the UK’s split from the European Union, Mogherini said that heads of state and governments will meet “tomorrow and the day after tomorrow” to discuss the way forward for “David Cameron and obviously all the other 27 heads of state and governments.”
Kerry highlighted that "the vote did not come out the way President Obama and I and others hoped that it would" and stressed that "it is now incumbent on leaders to implement the will of the people.”
Last Friday, the Electoral Commission reported that the Leave campaign had clinched a win in the UK EU referendum, with some 52 percent of the electorate voting for Brexit from an estimated 72 percent voter turnout.
