M/S German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias entering press conference, Berlin
SOT, Heiko Maas, German Foreign Minister (German): "These attacks cannot be justified by anything and they pose a danger for the fragile situation to escalate. We need deescalation now. The Houthis claimed responsibility for this attack. We and our partners are analysing who the responsible ones are and how it could come to this. We need to do this with the approrpriate care. However, the situation is particularly concerning. This is the last thing we need in this conflict right now."

SOT, Nikos Dendias, Greek Foreign Minister (Greek): "I agree with what the Foreign Minister [Maas] said before. We need a deescalation [in the conflict with Turkey over Cyprus] but Turkey’s position does not help here. There are announcements by Turkey to reopen the ghost town of Famagusta, which escalates the situation further and it’s not helping to find a solution."

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas voiced his concerns regarding the attack on Saudi oil facilities, in Berlin on Monday morning.
Speaking at a press conference with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias, Maas stated "These attacks cannot be justified by anything and they pose a danger for the fragile situation to escalate. We need deescalation now."
Commenting on the Turkish decision to drill for oil and gas in Cypriotic territorial waters, Dendias called the Turkish behaviour unhelpful, warning that the recent announcements by the Turkish side to reopen the city of Famagusta could escalate the situation further.
In the meeting the diplomats discussed a wide range of topics including the migrant crisis, German reparations and EU issues.
