Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said that he is "optimistic" that a "long-term, sustainable solution and viable without the mistakes of the past" will soon be reached regarding Greece's current financial situation in Riga, Friday. He added that he believes that his country will "soon come back with cohesion and growth." Tsipras said this despite German Chancellor Angela Merkel earlier stating that the Greek economy still "requires intensive work." Tsipras, who is attending the Eastern Partnership Summit, met with French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the side-lines of the event, Thursday night. The Greek premier described the discussion as occurring in a "very good and friendly atmosphere" and said that it was "very constructive." The focus of the Latvian summit will be the relations between the EU and its Eastern partners including Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova.
