Former Major League Baseball player and TV analyst Darryl Hamilton was found dead by police at his Houston-area home on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities describe the scene as an apparent murder-suicide.
Police responded to a 911 call from Hamilton's home, finding his body located near its main entry with several gunshot wounds.
He was 50-year-old.
The body of 44-year-old Monica Jordan was also found in another part of the house with a fatal, self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Their 14-month old son was found uninjured in the house.
Hamilton hit a career average .291, committing only 14 fielding errors over 13 seasons as an outfielder.
During his tenure, Hamilton played with the Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers, San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies and New York Mets.
