SOT, Mevlut Cavusoglu, Turkish Foreign Minister: "At the moment we are in contact at all levels with the Russians, both about yesterday's attack and about the need for the implementation of a ceasefire, for maintaining peace in Idlib. On the other hand, the convoy's task for yesterday's mission was to ensure the security of our ninth observation point. These observation points were established with Russia and Iran, within the Astana framework, in accordance with our agreement. Hence they have an observation point there. Right now, we do not have the intention of moving it somewhere else, they will continue their mission. Our friends are taking the necessary measures, security-related military measures. Our intelligence is available on the field anyway. The regime should not play with fire. We said it before. We will do whatever is necessary for our own military and for the security of our observation points. Everyone knows anyway our commitment on this matter. However, we do not wish for this affair to reach that point. We need to focus on the political process and other issues as soon as possible."

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated that the Syrian government "should not play with fire." He made the comments in Ankara on Tuesday. The statement comes one day after a Turkish military convoy allegedly came under attack by air strike while on the move in Syria.
"The regime should not play with fire. We said it before. We will do whatever is necessary for our own military and for the security of our observation points. Everyone knows anyway our commitment on this matter," said Cavusoglu.
The foreign minister specified that the allegedly attacked convoy was en route to the ninth observation point near Syria's Morek to ensure security there. Cavusoglu added that the observation point will not be moved and that the mission will continue.
The Turkish Defence Ministry said in a statement on Monday that the attack on the convoy led to the death of three civilians and left 12 civilians wounded.
