Gloria Steinem’s Peace Delegation

A group of 30 women, including rights activist Gloria Steinem and two nobel laureates, plan to cross from North Korea to South Korea at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). The group is called the Women Cross DMZ peace movement. A Korean-American peace activist says that the border crossing has a symbolic value for the group who hope their march will help “break the impasse and stalemate” between the two countries who’ve technically been at war since 1953. But their plans appear to have hit a stumbling block because they don't yet have formal approval from Seoul to cross back in to the South at one of the most fortified borders in the world due to ongoing hostilities between the two countries. The group's organizer told the Guardian thatd the group may have to change the route so they cross at a border used by business and civilians.
