Germany: Modi signs 'Golden Book' at Hanover City Hall

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed the 'Golden Book' of Hanover at Hanover City Hall, Sunday. The book is signed by all dignitaries who visit the city, and meet with Mayor of Hanover Stefan Schostok. Modi was welcomed at the event by a cheering crowd, which he took time to thank for the warm welcome. Modi arrived in Hannover earlier Sunday, after concluding his visit to France. During his three-day visit Modi plans to encourage German companies to invest in India and participate in the 'Make in India' initiative. He is also scheduled to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss bilateral relations and international issues of "mutual interest," according to a government press statement. Their discussions will wind up with a joint news conference in Berlin, Tuesday.
