01.04.2016
US President Barack Obama was joined by several world leaders and top international officials for a round table meeting at the fourth Nuclear Security Summit (NSS), Friday at Washington D.C.
Obama was joined by P5 +1 leaders, President of the European Council Donald tusk, and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Yukiya Amano. The US president focused on the breakthrough nuclear deal with Iran which has seen Western sanctions largely lifted against the Middle Eastern country. The US continues many aspects of its embargo against Tehran.
The NSS is a world summit aimed at preventing 'nuclear terrorism' and securing vulnerable nuclear materials worldwide. The first summit of its kind was in 2010 in Washington DC, gathering nearly fifty heads of state, the largest gathering of world leaders since the founding of the UN. Additional summits
