The Verkhovna Rada voted to dismiss Valentin Nalyvaichenko from his post as the head of Ukraine's Federal Security Service (SBU) in Kiev, Thursday. A total of 248 deputies out of 364 registered in the session hall supported the motion put forward by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. The proposal to dismiss Nalyvaichenko was voiced at a meeting of the president's parliamentary bloc on Tuesday. The leader of the Radical Party Oleh Liashko earlier claimed that Nalyvaichenko fell out of favour due to his uncompromising position regarding corruption. According to Poroshenko Nalyvaichenko will be offered the position as the head of the country's Foreign Intelligence Service.
