Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s Political and Media Adviser Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban said that a "media war" is being waged against the country at the "Conference for National Reconciliation and Syria’s Future" at the Institute of Oriental Studies at Russia’s Academy of Science in Moscow, Friday.
Dr. Shaaban said “we are facing a horrid corporate media that never, almost never tells the truth.” She said that “without any investigation” fingers are “immediately pointed to Russian or Syrian air force [s]” in the instance of humanitarian casualties, including the humanitarian envoy targetted “near Idlib, two months ago” and a school near Idlib struck on Thursday in which 20 children died.
Overall Assad’s advisor said the gathering had been “an extremely good meeting” and "constructive” pointing out the common cause of those gathered was to fight “Wahhabi extremism, that we all believe is an extreme danger to the entire world."
