Sweden: A$AP Rocky to stay in jail at least for another week

And the reason for that is that we think that there is no real risk of flight, for Rakim Mayers, who is a well known super celebrity, [who's] working life, a big part of that is to travel around the world and Europe and this would mean that he would run away and not come to Europe. And I think that it's not reasonable to think that he would do that, if you look into what he could risk in this case."

The Stockholm District Court upheld a request by prosecutors to extend the detention of American rapper Rakim Mayers, better known by his stage name A$AP Rocky, for another week on Friday. They now have until July 25 to decide whether to charge the artist with a crime. The court decided to keep the rapper in custody citing 'flight risk'.
"Rakim Mayers, who is a well known super celebrity, [who's] working life, a big part of that is to travel around the world and Europe, and this would mean that he would run away and not come to Europe, and I think that it's not reasonable to think that he would do that, if you look into what he could risk in this case," said A$AP Rocky's lawyer, Slobodan Jovicic.
Mayers was also visited by the US Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Carl Risch.

Prosecutors say A$AP Rocky was involved in a fight in Stockholm, where he performed at a festival on June 30.
