SOT, Jeferson Sales, Lookalike of Flamengo striker Gabigol: "I want to thank God for allowing this to happen, and these wonderful fans who embraced me as Gabigol da Torcida. Since the time when he played for Santos, people would say that I looked like him, and I realised that I really looked like him. I decided to dye my hair. When he came to Flamengo, I was already his fan."

SOT, Jeferson Sales, Lookalike of Flamengo striker Gabigol: "When I was hanging out, people would come to me, asking to take pictures with me and saying that I looked like Gabigol. In one of Flamengo's matches against San Jose, some media interviewed me, and it went all over the world. And today I am here like Gabigol da Torcida [Gabigol of the fans]."

SOT, Jeferson Sales, Lookalike of Flamengo striker Gabigol: "People ask to take pictures a lot. I receive a lot of affection not only from Flamengo fans but also from other teams, and I am very happy with that. In Flamengo's match against Bahia, I didn't have lunch or water, nor did I go to the toilet because there was a line of people asking me to take pictures [with me]. I couldn't believe that it was happening, and it was so great. In the last Flamengo's match against Gremio, I didn't even watch the match. I got a chance to watch the match only in the middle of the second half. But I am very happy with all this affection coming from fans."

SOT, Jeferson Sales, Lookalike of Flamengo striker Gabigol: "Once I was going to the Maracana stadium, nearing the beginning of the match, and at the intersection, a street seller saw me and thought that I was the real Gabigol. He called the traffic police and asked them to hold the traffic so that I could pass because I was late for the match. I found it very funny, and I didn't even have time to say that I wasn't Gabigol."

SOT, Jeferson Sales, Lookalike of Flamengo striker Gabigol: "When I am on the street near the place where I live, even people who know me for a long time and know that my name is Jeferson Sales, don't call me by Jeferson nowadays. Now it is Gabigol da Torcida and their affection is huge."

SOT, Jeferson Sales, Lookalike of Flamengo striker Gabigol: "I didn't aim to make profit out of it. Of course, if a partnership comes or something comes along, it will be welcome. But I have a job, I've been working for 11 years in a multinational in the beverage business, and I am enjoying this moment and not thinking about money."

A lookalike of Flamengo's star striker Gabigol was spotted outside Brasilia's National Stadium on Saturday, ahead of their match against Vasco da Gama.
Jeferson Sales, aged 34 and a native of Rio de Janeiro, said that his uncanny resemblance to the Gabigol would often spark off queues for photographs.
"In Flamengo's match against Bahia, I didn't have lunch or water, nor did I go to the toilet because there was a line of people asking me to take pictures [with me]. I couldn't believe that it was happening, and it was so great," recalled Sales.
The Gabigol lookalike said that fans would even ask to take a picture with him during football matches: "In the last Flamengo's match against Gremio, I didn't even watch the match. I had a chance to watch the match only in the middle of the second half. But I am very happy with all this affection coming from fans."
Sales also spoke about what he described as "funny" episodes, when he was confused with the real Gabigol. "A street seller saw me and thought that I was the real Gabigol. He called the traffic police and asked them to hold the traffic so that I could pass because I was late for the match. I found it very funny, and I didn't even have time to say that I wasn't Gabigol," added the lookalike.
