Police officers in Rio de Janeiro conducted anti-terrorist drills on Friday in preparation for the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympic Games taking place this summer.
During the drills, officers engaged in simulations to test their reactions in terror situations. In one of the exercises, a 'terror suspect' leaves a suspicious package in a bus terminal. Police detained the suspect and a bomb disposal unit destroyed the suspicious package in a controlled explosion.
The 2016 Olympic Games will take place in Rio de Janeiro from August 5 until August 21, 2016. This year's Olympics will be the largest ever with more than 10,500 athletes from 206 nations are expected to participate.
