For the second time in 2015, Dutch authorities raided Uber's European headquarters in Amsterdam, Tuesday, as part of a criminal investigation into the taxi-hailing application. Uber is under investigation for violating Dutch transportation laws by offering illegal taxi services. Dutch prosecutors seized administrative files from the office and are expected to decide in the near future whether to press charges against the taxi-hailing company. In March agents from the Dutch Transport Inspectorate raided the company's European headquarters and fined Uber €450,000 ($503,816) on the basis that it allowed unlicenced drivers to offer their services through UberPOP. Uber was founded in March 2009 by American Travis Cordell Kalanick. As of May 2015, Uber taxis were available in in 58 countries and 300 cities worldwide.
