Serbian Prime Minister Alexander Vucic thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for the "support that you provided us in the United Nations and UNESCO," during a meeting at Putin's country residence in Novo-Ogaryovo, near Moscow, Thursday. Vucic added that Moscow assisted Serbia in "trying to protect not only territorial integrity, but also freedom-loving spirit and its lifestyle." Putin welcomed the Serbian leader and recognised the strong bilateral relations that both nations shares by noting "the supply of Serbian agricultural products to the Russian market increased by 40 percent," adding that "we have a lot of other issues of mutual interest, as diplomats say. We are very glad to see you.." Vucic is currently on a three-day working visit to Russia on invitation from Russian Prime Minister Dimiti Medvedev. The visit has primarily focused on economic developments between the two nations with particular attention paid to Russian companies Gazprom and Russian Railways, both of which are key business players in Serbia.
