SOT, Dersim, protester (left) (English): "She just dehumanised the whole situation, she, literally, she didn't even go and see the victims. She didn't care. That's how I will put it. She didn't care about it. She doesn't care about the poor. She only cares about her rich friends and herself."
Several thousand protesters gathered on Whitehall, London, on Saturday, to demand the resignation of UK Prime Minister Theresa May, in light of the latest General Election results and in the aftermath of the deadly Grenfell Tower fire.
Shadow Secretary for Education Angela Rayner of the Labour party addressed those gathered. During her speech Rayner decried May's proposed coalition with the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) of Northern Ireland, saying that the said party is "an organisation that backs terrorism, that disseminates women's rights, and that discriminates against those of our LGBT community."
Protester Simon Maggs denounced May as a "pathetic specimen" and that "she should go, immediately". Other protesters criticised the PM's reaction following the Grenfell Tower fire.
"She's shown no humanity or compassion," said Harrison, a protester, describing May as a "coward" for not meeting with the victims or their families.
