Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige unveiled the Marvel Cinematic Universe's(MCU) release schedule for the next two years at Comic-Con in San Diego, California, on Saturday. The famously tight-lipped studio confirmed the release dates for 10 upcoming films and series including Black Widow, The Eternals, and the latest sequels in the Doctor Strange and Thor franchises.
The stars of the world's biggest film franchise in history appeared on stage, including fan favourites Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, as well as MCU newcomers Angelina Jolie, Rachel Weisz and Mahershala Ali, to announce the films planned to be released up until November 2021, otherwise known as the MCU's Phase 4, after Avengers: Endgame explosively concluded Phase 3 in 2019.
The new projects include The Eternals, starring Jolie, while Ali teased a reboot of the Blade franchise - the half-vampire was originally portrayed by Wesley Snipes in the 1990s film series.
Natalie Portman will return for the fourth instalment of Thor, taking the hammer as a female version of the Norse deity. The actor reportedly had a falling out with the studio during the production of 2013's Thor 2, causing her character to be written out of future projects and only appeared in Endgame using recycled footage.
While originally focused on comic books, San Diego Comic Con has become one of the largest yearly events focusing on nerd culture, gathering hundreds of thousands of cosplayers and fans every year. It will take place until Monday.
