Syria: Russian bombers strike IS arms plant in Deir-ez-Zor - MoD

Six Tupolev Tu-22 M3 bombers struck militant targets in the Syrian province of Deir-ez-Zor, Tuesday, destroying an ammunition and explosives plant and warehouses belonging to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL), Russia's Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
The Ministry of Defence released the footage showing long-range bombers in the sky dropping their payloads with shots from infra-red cameras showing the targets being hit. The aircraft took off from bases located inside Russia and conducted flights over Iran and Iraq while air support and cover was provided by Su-30SMs and Su-35Ss which set off from the Hmeymim airbase in Syria.
According to the Russian Defence Ministry all target were successfully destroyed and the bombers returned safely back to their base.
The attack comes as Syria settlement talks are being held in the Kazakh capital.
