20.11.2018
The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina held its post-election constitutive assembly in Sarajevo on Tuesday, during which the three recently elected members - Milorad Dodik, Zeljko Komsic and Sefik Dzaferovic - officially assumed office.
Speaking from the lectern, Dodik vowed to pledge to the country's military neutrality, and to reject "whichever processes arise that might direct Bosnia and Herzegovina into what is not the interest of Republika Srpska and its people."
Dodik also added that he will also do his best for the country to maintain its good relations with the United States and the European Union, but that he would also continue his "very good cooperation" with the Russian Federation.
The Serb leader also said he would pledge for the abolishment of the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina's office, saying "his role was not in the interest of long-term stability and development of Bosnia and Herzegovina."
Bosnia and Herzegovina has a presidency made up of three members drawn from the country's different ethnic groups, one Serb representative is chosen by the voters of the Republic Srpska while the voters of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina elect the Bosniak and Croat representatives.
