German Chancellor Angela Merkel met Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu during during her official visit to Ankara on Sunday. The current refugee and migrant crisis, the situation in Syria, as well as the joint struggle against 'terrorism' are on the agenda. Merkel is expected to give a joint press conference with Ahmet Davutoglu after the talks. During Merkel's visit, she is scheduled to meet President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the first time since February 2013. They are expected to discuss security issues, refugees and the conflict in Syria. Merkel is looking to Turkey for help in stemming the flow of refugees and migrants to Europe from the Middle East. Merkel backed a multibillion euro refugee package for Turkey during a European Council migration summit on Thursday, stating that a total of €3 billion ($3.41 billion) was under discussion.
