The church leadership of the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg and Upper Silesia launched free internet for their protestant churches across Berlin-Brandenburg at their Cathedral in Berlin, Tuesday.
The Wi-Fi hotspot, dubbed the "Godspot," is to be installed in some 220 churches across Berlin and Brandenburg. Speaking at the event, head of the IT department Fabian Kraetschmer hoped that the "Godspot" would be implemented as a service for locals, as well as for the church and church visitors.
Kraetschmer said, "Within Berlin there is already, just like in the French Cathedral, test areas in which many many hundreds of people can be reached with this hotspot. This is an offer that is not only for the tourists but also to be utilised by Berliners as well."
