SOT, Vishnu Venu, participant: "I came here only for trying. My motive was not to win, not to achieve anything. My motive was just to participate in the competition and just have fun. And this is fun for many people. Comedy people used to laugh if anyone is farting. So I don't think there is anything to laugh. It is a natural thing and if someone is laughing so I feel proud that I am more of (what is) making them laugh."

SOT, Yatin Sangoi, event organiser: "So my trophy is still intact. I want someone to win that trophy and the cash prize of 10,000 rupees. So we will be doing it in other cities."

Only three out of dozens of people who signed up online took part in India's first farting contest in Surat on Sunday.
Event organiser Yatin Sangoi said he was trying to break the stigma of public farting with this 'out-of-the-box' competition. "In two days it went viral all over and we started getting calls. In a week all the media was covering it and giving this event hype and this was something new for them and it was new for us also," said Sangol.
He and a partner even came up with equipment for the contest and attracted several prominent locals to join the jury.
Eventually, all three participants failed to perform what was expected of them leaving the competition without a winner.
"So my trophy is still intact. I want someone to win that trophy and the cash prize of 10,000 rupees. So we will be doing it in other cities," said the organiser.
