Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping during a state visit in Beijing on Wednesday.
The two leaders reportedly decided to forge a permanent comprehensive strategic partnership between their two countries, while Tokayev also said he planned to potentially triple Kazakh wheat exports to China, which is already an important market for Kazakhstan’s oil, gas and metals.
Tokayev, who arrived on Tuesday, will stay in China until Thursday.
