Afghanistan: NATO meeting shows moments before attack left police chief dead

Footage released on Thursday shows a high-profile meeting between senior US and Afghan officials in Kandahar, moments before an attack that killed the Kandahar provincial police chief and injured two US troops.
Afghan guards reportedly opened fire on officials including NATO and US forces commander in Afghanistan, Austin S. Miller and Kandahar's governor Zalmay Wesa, killing chief police General Abdul Razi and wounding two US troops in the process.
The attack came as the party made their way to a helipad after the conclusion of the meeting.
According to NATO, the US commander was safely evacuated. Several US and Afghan officials including Kandahar's governor were reportedly left injured.
At least one of the assailants was a member of the governor's security detail.
