Russia: Lavrov signs consultation plan with Chinese FM Wang Yi

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a press conference with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Moscow, Tuesday, where both men signed the Consultation Plan for 2015. Lavrov described the agreement as "the strengthening of foreign policy co-ordination between Moscow and Beijing." The Russian foreign minister praised the “richness” of Russian and Chinese relations and said that it had "huge potential, which will certainly contribute to the further development of our co-operation." China is one of Russia’s leading trade partners, as the two countries co-operate greatly in both the financial and energy sectors. Wang Yi is to spend three days in Russia after an official invitation was sent by Lavrov. As well as international co-operation between the two countries, the pair are expected to discuss the on-going crisis in Yemen.
