Russia: Chinese, Russian joint anti-terror drills kick off in the Moscow Region

Joint Russian-Chinese anti-terrorist drills dubbed 'Cooperation-2016' kicked off in Moscow Region, Sunday.
Special Forces from the Vityaz unit of Russia's National Guard and servicemen from the Chinese People's Armed Police Force, belonging to the units Snow Leopard and Hunting Falcon are taking part in the drills which are set to last until July 14.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Major General Qin Tian, the Chief of Staff of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force, and Colonel General Sergei Chenchik, the Chief of Staff of the Russian National Guard.
The units will perform anti-terror exercises involving tasks that require special equipment such as mortar batteries, Mi-8 helicopters and armoured vehicles. Chinese forces will use Russian weapons during the joint drills.
