Head of the Russian Federal Space Agency Igor Komarov said that the reason for the failure of the Progress M-27M ISS resupply mission on April 28 was an "unplanned separation of the third stage of the rocket and cargo carrier," during a press conference in Moscow on Tuesday. A special working group was formed on Tuesday to determine what caused the depressurisation of the oxidiser tank and the fuel tanks that led to the failure. The 'Union-2.1а' rocket launched the cargo transport space ship Progress M-27M from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Tuesday, April 28. Progress M-27M burned up in the Earth's atmosphere not longer after it launched.
