Russia: Ulyukayev leaves Investigating Committee following corruption charges

Russian Minister of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukaev was seen leaving Investigating Committee in Moscow to face corruption charges on Tuesday.
Later, he will be taken to the Basmanni District Court, which should decide if Ulyukaev stays under home arrest or reminds in custody.
Ulyukaev was arrested on Monday night by the officers of the Investigative Committee as he is suspected in of accepting a two million USD bribe (€1,863,559). According to the investigators, he received the money after his Ministry had approved the deal on Rosneft's takeover of a major regional company oil company Bashneft. As a result, Rosneft could acquire the state's stake in Bashneft.
The detention makes Ulyukayev the highest-ranking Russian official taken into custody since the attempted coup 1991.
