Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said the situation in the South China Sea was moving towards greater stability, speaking at the 33rd summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Singapore on Wednesday.
"We have found a way to properly manage and defuse differences. For example, on the issue of the South China Sea," he said.
"In the past few years with the DOC [Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea] in implementation, overall peace and stability in the South China Sea has been maintained and now the situation is moving towards greater stability," Lin added.
The four-day event sees representatives from the 10 ASEAN member states as well as from the region's major economies meet to discuss economic, trade, security, investment and development opportunities in South East Asia.
