Hundreds of women protested in Caracas, Tuesday, to denounce the violent demonstrations organised by supporters of Venezuela's opposition.
The female protesters held colourful flags and banners condemning the violence orchestrated by the right-wing opposition. Protesters marched to the government palace in the Venezuelan capital where President Nicolas Maduro gave a speech.
Speaking to the crowd, Maduro said: "We must be guards and custodians to the peace. And we must win the peace all days. We still have an independent homeland."
Commenting on suspended Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, the Venezuelan president said: "If there is an honest woman in Latin America she is called Dilma Rousseff. And she was given a disproportionate infamous coup, unjust."
